About ARCA
The Advanced Research Center in Agribusiness is USV Iași's investment in research, innovation and technology-transfer capacity for the agri-food sector.
Mission, vision and purpose
ARCA is a research, development and innovation unit without legal personality, established on 2 February 2023 by a decision of the Board of Directors of USV Iași. It operates as an internal university structure and aims to connect the research and innovation community with agricultural entrepreneurs.
ARCA's mission is to support the development of innovation capacity among agribusiness entrepreneurs by providing research, development, innovation and technology transfer services geared to the real needs of enterprises.
ARCA's vision is to create an innovation and technology transfer network in agribusiness that is competitive in national and international markets.
The purpose of ARCA's research infrastructure is to diversify the regional research and innovation offering by building a bridge between the research community and agribusiness entrepreneurs.

To fulfil its mission, ARCA pursues the following objectives:
Developing highly qualified human resources for research, development and innovation activities.
Increasing the funding attracted through research, development and innovation activities.
Developing an effective management system for research, development and innovation activities.
Developing applied and technological research capacity and innovation among agribusiness entrepreneurs.
Expanding partnerships with the scientific and business communities at national and international levels.
Infrastructure
The ARCA center will operate in a new research building, with a total built area of at least 3,900 sqm, equipped with IT equipment, specialized software and workspaces for research, development and innovation activities.

Financial support
The total project value is RON 40,550,579.11, of which the non-repayable funding requested is RON 39,739,567.48 (RON 34,467,992.24 from the ERDF budget and RON 5,271,575.24 from the national budget). The beneficiary’s total co-financing is RON 811,011.63.
